Seraj is Flourishing
The Seraj Story is Flourishing, for a time such as this
We had a wonderful night at 2022 Seraj Benefit!

The Benefit Report
We are pleased that we had a successful benefit. You are invited to read the 2022 benefit report below:
Who is Amer Zahr, our benefit guest?
Amer Zahr was born in Jordan to refugee parents who were originally from Nazareth. He moved to the United States when he was three years old and was raised around Philadelphia. Because his father is Christian and his mother is Muslim, he grew up with a deep understanding of both religions. Amer has an MA in Middle Eastern and North Africa Studies, also has a JD, and is as an adjunct professor at University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. He launched his comedy career to put himself through law school — and because it grew, he has headlined at many famous venues including Carnegie Hall and the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. His annual comedy festival in Palestine sold-out in Bethlehem, Nablus, Jerusalem, and Ramallah!
We note with appreciation Amer Zahr organized an online fundraising event for Seraj, with significant results. Thanks to Amer for joining Seraj’s sponsor community.
The Seraj Story is Flourishing
The Seraj Story really is flourishing. We have lots to tell. We'll hear reports from the new Storytelling Center, the Birzeit Hub, the new programs we've initiated. In addition, the October Tour group will have just returned, likely with lots to say. We are very proud of what we have accomplished and we can’t wait to share our story with you!
An evening to be remembered
The Seraj community is grounded in values of education, justice, and empowerment. Our 12 Seraj Libraries provide safe and beautiful spaces for children, families and residents. Communities gather together for enriching programing in the arts, storytelling, music and civic engagement.
At the benefit, you will hear about our inspiring story and our latest efforts to support Palestinians.
We empower communities, one library at a time
Learn about our latest efforts in Palestinian cultural preservation. Story-telling is a cultural gem for Palestinians, and this year Seraj has built the Cotton Fite Story-Telling Center in Kufor Aqab to preserve, teach, and share this amazing art.
